Urbansherpa, I feel the same way. I have an OLD Mossberg .22 that I got when I was about 13 (I am 72 now) that is still far more reliable than my Marlin 39TDS. It seems there is always something that needs fixng or replacing on this Marlin! The CBS and rebounding hammer is a bad design. I have a full size 39A from the 1970s that is much better.

Send your rifle to Marlin, have them fit the bolt, they will also replace any worn pa rts, and test fire it. It will be worth it, to have it done right.
