MA 162 is one of the biggest weedout classes at Purdue. If you search this sub for it you will find a lot of insight. From my point of view, most people have taken calc 1 in high school but not calc 2 and so they struggle seeing the material for the first time. I do not think the exams are easier than the homework in this class.
I took ENGR 131, MA 162, PHYS 272 and CS 180 during a normal semester and it was a lot. com calc2 and physics 172 in the summer is going to be a LOT of work. I really think you should consider (com) and (math, physics, or engineering). If you feel similarly I would advise you take 166. From my recollection, tests and homework were rather similar but not identical for both classes. I took 162, but sat in and looked over exams of students in 166. I would 100% recommend 166. In my opinion the professors were better and tests were easier.
